Ethan Lares-Salinas (he/him), Vice President of Fundraising

Ethan Lares-Salinas is a young professional with a particular interest in history, fundraising, mental health policy, and domestic/national security. Currently serving as a Legislative Assistant for California Advocates, California’s oldest contract advocacy firm, Ethan brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role. Before working at California Advocates, Ethan was first introduced to the world of fundraising while working as Finance Coordinator for the California Democratic Party. With this new-found interest, he joined SCYD’s Fundraising Committee where he was appointed Deputy Vice President of Fundraising.

Originally from the Coachella Valley, Ethan attended his local community college, College of the Desert, and earned an associate degree in political science. In 2019, he transferred to the University of California, Davis where he majored in political science and minored in history ultimately earning his B.A. While attending UC Davis, Ethan joined the Davis College Democrats and served as Deputy Executive Director, assisting in club communications and outreach during the COVID pandemic. Ethan was recently admitted to the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy where he will begin taking courses in the Fall of 2024 and earn his MPA in 2026.

Ethan is a dinosaur nerd who insisted he was half T-Rex and half human up until the age of 5. He loves animals, especially cats and reptiles. In his spare time, Ethan enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his boyfriend Evan Cragin who is the Vice President of Membership for SCYD.
