Evan Cragin (he/him), Vice President of Membership

Evan Cragin is a housing, transit, and electoral politics enthusiast. He currently works for Sacramento City Councilmember Caity Maple as her Operations Director. Before that, Evan was a Field Representative for Assembly Majority Leader Cecilia Aguiar-Curry in her Davis office.

Raised in Berkeley, Evan transferred from community college to be a proud UC Davis student earning his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Human Rights. After moving to Davis, Evan became involved in local politics, including the College Democrats, several political campaigns, internships, and both — Democratic and nonpartisan — politics in Yolo and Sacramento Counties.

Evan became involved with the Sacramento County Young Democrats in 2022 and was elected to be the Communications Director to fill a vacancy before the Midterm Elections, being re-elected for a full term in 2023, and was later elected to Vice President of Membership in 2024. He has served different board positions in several other political organizations including the Davis College Democrats during the early COVID pandemic and 2020 Election; the Sacramento Stonewall Democrats; and House Sacramento, a local pro-housing YIMBY (Yes In My BackYard) organization. 

Evan currently lives in Midtown, and loves to hang with friends, explore the area, and go to trivia nights!
